AMD has officially unveiled its Ryzen Threadripper 9000 series, bringing outrageous performance specs tailored for professional workstations and ultra-premium prosumer rigs. Leading the pack is the Threadripper Pro 9995WX—a behemoth of a chip boasting 96 cores and 192 threads.

This new-generation lineup pushes the limits further, with a maximum boost clock of 5.4GHz, up from the 5.1GHz cap seen in the previous 7000 Pro flagship. The 9000 series isn’t just an upgrade—it’s AMD’s most extreme play yet for creators, engineers, and serious power users.

With up to 384MB of L3 cache and support for 128 lanes of PCIe 5.0, AMD’s new Ryzen

Threadripper 9000 series is built to breeze through massive datasets, multi-GPU workflows, and memory-heavy tasks. All PRO models come with AMD PRO technologies onboard, offering enterprise-grade security, robust manageability, and long-term platform stability, making life easier for IT teams in demanding professional environments.

The new lineup includes six processors under the Threadripper Pro WX banner. Alongside the flagship 96-core 9995WX, AMD is offering a range of configurations, spanning 12, 16, 24, 32, and 64 cores, catering to a variety of workstation needs.

For high-end desktop users outside the Pro space, the standard Threadripper 9000 series tops out with the 64-core, 128-thread 9980X.

As of now, AMD has yet to reveal pricing or confirm which OEM systems will be shipping with these chips, but expect them to land in top-tier workstations and HEDTs soon.
