Garmin’s latest Forerunner 970 and Forerunner 570, aim at runners and fitness-focused users. Both models sport AMOLED screens and come equipped with built-in speakers and microphones. Rated 5ATM, they’re suitable for swimming and wet weather workouts. The Forerunner 970 features a battery life of up to 15 days on a single charge, while the Forerunner 570 offers up to 11 days of use, as per Garmin.
The AMOLED displays support always-on functionality for quick glances. Connectivity options include Bluetooth, ANT+, and Wi-Fi, making them easy to pair with other devices and accessories. On the sensor front, both models are well-equipped with an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometric altimeter, compass, gyroscope, and temperature sensor for comprehensive fitness and health tracking.
The watches offer multi-band satellite support with built-in GPS, BeiDou, QZSS, GLONASS, and Galileo for location tracking. Health monitoring includes SpO2, heart rate, sleep, stress, and respiratory rate. A 5ATM water resistance rating ensures durability during swims or rain-soaked runs, and built-in speakers and microphones enable voice functions and audio alerts.

The Garmin Forerunner 570 sports an aluminium bezel and comes in two sizes—42mm and 47mm. The more advanced Forerunner 970 comes in a single 47mm size and features a titanium bezel and a sapphire crystal lens. It also features a built-in torch and supports advanced running metrics when paired with the separately sold HRM 600 heart rate monitor. This includes energy efficiency tracking over multiple sessions and a unique step speed loss metric that analyses deceleration with each foot strike.
Plus, it supports Garmin Coach training plans tailored for running, triathlon, cycling, and strength workouts. Users receive a personalised readiness score that factors in sleep quality, recovery status, training load, and other key metrics. Additionally, the Forerunner 970 offers dynamic route suggestions that automatically loop back to the starting point—ideal for exploring new paths without losing your way.
