Synology has launched the DiskStation DS925+ and the DX525 Expansion Unit, targeting professionals and businesses that require high performance and reliable data management.
The company emphasises that its 4-bay Plus Series models have been widely adopted, with over one million installations. These models are favoured by professionals and also used by enterprises in remote and branch environments as edge servers. Synology states that the DS925+ is designed to deliver business-grade performance and reliability.
The DS925+ is engineered to handle demanding workloads and offers efficient and scalable storage in a compact form factor. It is equipped with dual 2.5GbE ports and two M.2 slots for creating all-flash storage pools or cache, providing significant performance improvements compared to its predecessor. These improvements include faster SMB downloads (up to 149 percent faster), uploads (upto 150 percent faster), reads (up to 131 percent faster), and writes (up to 150 percent faster).
In addition to its performance, the DS925+ also offers high capacity and scalability. When paired with the new DX525 expansion unit, it supports up to nine drive bays and offers up to 180TB of raw capacity, enabling users to expand their storage as their data demands grow.
Synology highlights that the DS925+ is engineered as a full-featured system to ensure consistent performance and reliability with Synology hard drives. The system follows a drive compatibility framework that involves over 7,000 hours of rigorous testing. To ensure optimal integration and long-term dependability, the installation of DSM on the DS925+ requires compatible hard drives.
The DS925+ is powered by Synology's DiskStation Manager (DSM), offering versatile features for various business data management needs. Synology Drive allows the system to function as a private cloud, providing cross-platform access and site-to-site syncing for distributed teams. Active Backup Suite offers comprehensive protection for Windows, Linux, and MacOS devices, virtual machines, and cloud accounts, with flexible off-site backup options. Surveillance Station delivers scalable video management and real-time intelligent analytics for safeguarding physical assets.
The DS925+ and DX525 expansion units are now available to buy through Synology's network of partners and resellers in the SAARC region.
