Microsoft is bringing an AI wingman to your sessions with the launch of Gaming Copilot (Beta). Copilot is designed to be a personal gaming assistant that can answer questions, give tips, track achievements, and even recommend new games, without dragging you out of the action. It is first rolling out to Windows PC via Game Bar, and soon landing on the Xbox mobile app for iOS and Android.

Gaming Copilot: How to use

On PC, you’ll spot Copilot on Game Bar, ready to pop up whenever you hit Windows key + G. You can fire up Voice Mode to ask for instant guidance mid-match, whether it’s about an enemy you just ran into, an NPC’s backstory you’ve forgotten, or simply figuring out your next achievement. Handy touches like Push-to-Talk shortcuts and a Mini Mode widget keep the assistant unobtrusive while you grind away.

The Xbox app on mobile is next in line, where Copilot becomes your second-screen sidekick. You’ll have to tap the microphone icon to ask anything, from training tips to library recommendations.

It’s not just reactive, either. Tell Copilot what genres you love, and it’ll queue up fresh titles worth trying. Hooked into your play history, it can also nudge you toward new challenges, help with hunting achievements, or remind you which boss you’ve been ignoring.

Gaming Copilot Beta is now rolling out for players aged 18 and above on Windows PCs, with mobile support set to arrive in October, except in mainland China. Whether you’re grinding MOBAs, tackling RPG quests, or chasing down Gamerscore, Xbox wants you to think of Copilot as your AI-powered co-op partner.
