EOS C50 is the smallest model in Canon’s Cinema EOS line

Priced at Rs. 2,99,900!

Canon’s new EOS C50 is a compact full-frame, RF-mount camera built for professional filmmakers. It’s the smallest model in the Cinema EOS line, designed to slot easily into a variety of shooting setups.

The camera features a 7K full-frame CMOS sensor with Canon’s DIGIC DV 7 processor. It records internal RAW video at up to 7K 60p, supports slow motion at up to 4K 120p / 2K 180p, and can capture 32MP stills.

The EOS C50 also introduces open gate recording to the Cinema EOS range. This mode uses the full 3:2 sensor area, giving creators more flexibility whether reframing shots, producing content in both vertical and horizontal formats, or pairing with anamorphic lenses for a wider cinematic image.

Its display adapts to the mode in use – a Cinema EOS-style interface for video and the familiar Canon EOS R menu system for photos. Plus, both videographers and photographers benefit from Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system. It offers autofocus with eye detection for people, but also dogs, cats, and birds, plus fine controls for adjusting autofocus speed and tracking behaviour based on the subject.

The EOS C50 features a lightweight, modular design. A detachable handle adds comfort and control, offering two full-size 3-pin XLR audio inputs, dedicated control dials for professional audio, a REC button, and a zoom rocker, ideal for quick, camcorder-style operation during fast-paced shoots.

Alongside the XLR inputs, the EOS C50 offers a MIC terminal, Timecode input, HDMI OUT (Type-A), and USB (Type-C). Dual card slots support CFexpress and SD cards, enabling simultaneous recording of different file formats, resolutions, and proxy setups.

The camera also supports UVC/UAC for livestreaming at up to 60P/50P over a single USB connection. It offers remote control via Canon’s XC Protocol, allowing operation through compatible smartphone apps or hardware like the RC-IP1000 Remote Controller. Video clips and stills can be transferred in real time over Wi-Fi or USB using Canon’s Content Transfer Professional (CTP) app.

It also supports a wide range of RF lenses natively, and can also use EF and PL lenses via Canon’s optional PL-RF Mount Adapter or EF-EOS R adapters.

The EOS C50 is priced at Rs. 2,99,900.
