Square Enix has teamed up with Tencent's LightSpeed Studios to bring a mobile version of its hugely successful MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV Online. Naoki Yoshida, the director of Final Fantasy XIV at Square Enix, shared that the upcoming mobile version of the game, Final Fantasy XIV Mobile, will serve as a “sister” product to the original console and PC MMO. The aim is to capture the epic scale of the original’s story and combat mechanics while adapting it for a mobile experience. Yoshida also highlighted that the game will faithfully include non-combat features, such as the Disciples of the Land and Hand, which encompass vocations like miners, botanists, and fishers.

Additionally, the mobile version will incorporate character customization options, equipment designs, and over 600 distinct weather patterns across different landscapes, all aimed at recreating the authentic look and feel of FFXIV. LightSpeed Studios also reportedly intends to keep key lifestyle elements like fishing, Triple Triad, and Chocobo racing.
