The latest Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 is said to be the slimmest and lightest Galaxy Z series smartphone ever. The smartphone has shed some weight, coming in at 239g compared to the 253g of its predecessor, the Fold 5.
It has also got a revamped cover screen ratio, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 now offers a more natural bar-type viewing experience. The cover features a 6.3-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 2376 x 968 and a 22.1:9 aspect ratio. This display also supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
When open, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 features a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity Flex Display as its main screen. This display offers a resolution of 2160 x 1856 with a 20.9:18 aspect ratio and features a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate.
The new Galaxy Z Fold6 series doesn't just look good, it's built to last. With design refinements, it now features a dual rail hinge structure and a strengthened folding edge to better distribute the shock of external impacts. The series also includes reinforced Armour Aluminum and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, making it the toughest Galaxy Z series yet.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, running on One UI 6.1.1 based on Android 14. Samsung has optimised the processor for AI processing, delivering enhanced graphics and improved overall performance. To keep things cool, there's an upgraded cooling system with a 1.6x larger vapour chamber.
The Galaxy Z Fold6 is also (of course) packed with AI-powered features like Note Assist that offer translation, summaries, and auto-formatting for meeting notes, while the new transcript feature handles voice recordings. PDF overlay translation supports text in PDFs, images, and graphs. The Samsung Keyboard's Composer suggests text for emails and social media based on keywords, and the enhanced S Pen 8 experience with Galaxy AI includes Sketch to Image for creating art from sketches.
Google Gemini is fully integrated, providing an AI assistant for writing, learning, and planning, and it works seamlessly with Google apps for travel information. The interpreter’s conversation mode displays translations on both screens, with one-way translation for lectures. Live Translate now supports real-time phone call translation on select third-party apps.
For photography, the Galaxy Z Fold6 features a 10MP selfie camera with an F2.2 aperture on the cover. Under the display, there is a 4MP sensor with an F1.8 aperture. At the rear, a triple-camera system offers a 12MP ultra-wide camera with an F2.2 aperture, a 50MP wide-angle camera with dual pixel autofocus, optical image stabilisation (OIS), and an F1.8 aperture. Rounding out the trio is a 10MP telephoto camera with phase detection autofocus (PDAF), OIS, and an F2.4 aperture.
