Hyundai N Vision 74 concept proves EVs don’t need to be boring

Back from the future

Hyundai’s latest concept is a car from the future with a retro design. Unveiled at the Busan Motor Show 2022 in Korea, the Hyundai N Vision 74 proves that EV’s need not be boring.
In terms of the design, the Vision 74 pays homage to the 1974 Hyundai Pony Coupé, designed by Italdesign’s Giorgetto Giugiaro. If there’s a hint of nostalgia in this design, you’re not alone. Giugiaro is the same man who went on to make the DeLorean DMC 12, made iconic by the Back to the Future movie series.
The sharp lines add a level of aggression to the design, which is accentuated by the massive rear wing and diffuser. In addition to the poster-worthy designs, the car features dimensions of 4952 x 2905 x 1331 mm.
For all the retro inspiration, there’s more than enough futuristic bits under the hood. Powering the car is an interesting 'hybrid' electric drivetrain that includes a 62.4kWh battery pack. This battery can be charged from 0-80% in under 20 minutes. There’s also an Hydrogen fuel cell, which takes about five minutes to refuel the 4.2kg hydrogen tank.
All these come together to produce around 680hp, propelling the car to over 250kph. Hyundai also claims a range of over 600km.
