iMac gets a refresh with an M4 chip, Apple Intelligence, and a splash of colour!

First Macs to get the M4

After the iPad Pros, the new iMac will come with Apple’s latest M4 chip, the magic of Apple Intelligence, and a vibrant palette of colours to brighten up any workspace. The M4 chip is the heart of this new iMac, delivering 3x performance over the M1 according to Apple. The 10-core CPU comes in two configurations of 8-core and 10-core GPU. The 10-GPU also gets four Thunderbolt 4 ports and Nano‑texture glass that minimises reflections and glare. The 8-Core GPU variant only gets two Thunderbolt 4 ports and doesn’t get the option for Nano-texture glass.

All of that performance grunt should make everyday tasks like browsing and multitasking feel smooth, and Apple says demanding workloads like photo editing and gaming are up to 2.1x faster. But the real game-changer is Apple Intelligence, Apple's new personal AI system. It's baked right into macOS Sequoia and ready to help you work smarter, not harder. It is supposed to effortlessly refine your writing with intelligent suggestions, getting summaries of your notifications, and even asking Siri complex questions about your Mac. Apple Intelligence is designed to learn and adapt to your workflow.

The new iMac is a visual treat, available in a rainbow of colours including green, yellow, orange, pink, purple, and blue. And if you're looking for a truly immersive experience, the 24-inch 4.5K Retina display also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+/HDR10 and HLG. The new iMac starts at Rs. 1,34,900 and is available to pre-order today, with availability beginning Friday, November 8th.
