See ya in a Kia!

Kia India has officially rolled out its much-awaited EV9 and Carnival Limousine, with the EV9 priced at ₹1.29 crore and the Carnival Limousine at ₹63.9 lakh. Let’s look at the EV9 first.

As Kia’s flagship electric SUV, the EV9 features a 99.8 kWh battery, offering a claimed range of up to 561 km on a single charge. And when it comes to charging, Kia says its ultra-fast tech lets you juice up the battery from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes using a 350kW DC charger.

The EV9 sports a bold design, with vertically stacked LED headlamps, distinctive L-shaped DRLs, and a closed-off grille featuring integrated digital-pattern lighting. At the rear, you'll find vertical LED tail lamps paired with a clean, minimalistic tailgate and a dual-tone bumper with a skid plate. In terms of size, the EV9 is quite substantial, measuring 5,015 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, standing 1,780 mm tall, and riding on a 3,100 mm wheelbase.

Tech-wise, it comes packed with Kia Connect 2.0, an advanced platform that integrates with smart devices, enabling over-the-air (OTA) updates for software and vehicle diagnostics. The EV9’s futuristic design, rooted in Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy, includes a Trinity panoramic display—combining a 12.3-inch HD instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen navigation system and a 5-inch HD HVAC display.

The EV9 comes standard with a 6-seater layout, featuring second-row captain's chairs that offer electric adjustment, a massage function, and adjustable leg support for extra comfort. Plus, it’s packed with premium features, including three-zone climate control, dual electric sunroofs, a head-up display, a digital rear-view mirror, vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality, and a 14-speaker Meridian audio system. There’s also a digital key for added convenience.  When it comes to safety, Kia has loaded the EV9 with 44 controller modules and 27 advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) features.

The new Kia Carnival Limousine, on the other hand, is about luxury and style. It has auto LED projector headlamps, LED DRLs, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a dual electric sunroof. At the rear, the LED tail lamps are connected by an LED light bar, adding a modern touch.

Inside, the Carnival offers a refined two-tone interior, featuring a 12.3-inch driver display, a 12.3-inch infotainment system paired with a 12-speaker Bose sound system, and an 11-inch head-up display. Comfort is a priority with a 12-way powered driver’s seat and an 8-way powered passenger seat, both offering ventilation and heating in the front row. Other features include shift-by-wire technology, 64-colour ambient lighting, rain-sensing wipers, and push-button start/stop and electrically sliding doors for added convenience.

Under the hood, the Carnival is powered by a 2.2-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 193 hp and 441 Nm of peak torque, mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Kia is also offering a special package that includes 3 years of free maintenance, a warranty, and RSA benefits, adding great value to the deal. In terms of safety, the Carnival packs in 8 airbags, Level 2 ADAS features, ABS with EBD, ESC, and hill-assist control, ensuring peace of mind on the road.
