Mattel’s new line lets you assemble your Hot Wheels cars

Time to rev your creative engines

Mattel and the geniuses behind Hot Wheels are launching the Mattel Brick Shop. This new brand is kicking things off with seven collectible building sets, giving you a whole new way to build, customise, and collect. You can pre-order them now at select retailers globally, and they'll hit retail shelves this summer.

Each set boasts accurate details and proportions, plenty of customisation options, and even includes real metal parts. Plus, every single building set comes with a 1:64th scale matching die-cast car, an exclusive only available as part of the set.

The first Hot Wheels building sets from Mattel Brick Shop arrive in three series. The Hot Wheels Premium Series is dedicated to maximum authenticity and display-worthy details. These ultimate collectibles are built with metal parts, including extra metal wheel covers and licensed decals, and each set includes a matching 1:64 metal car. The Premium Series is available for $119 dollars and includes the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, a 1:12 scale legend with opening doors, a metal Mercedes-Benz crest, and a luxe interior.

Next is the Hot Wheels Elite Series, a collection of iconic cars you can customise with extra parts, metal wheel covers, and licensed decals. The Elite Series sets are available for $49. Models in this series include the Corvette Grand Sport, a track-ready legend with a low-slung profile and metallic exhaust pipes, offering swappable parts.

Also available is the ’90 Acura NSX, Japan’s supercar icon, complete with pop-up headlights, functional steering, and swappable license plates. On the American side of things is the Custom ’62 Chevy Pickup, a classic Americana build with an exposed engine, adjustable suspension, and a surfboard in the back.

Finally, the Hot Wheels Speed Series is a collection of iconic Hot Wheels cars designed for customisation. Each set allows fans to enhance their builds with additional wheel covers and licensed decals. The Speed Series faithfully recreates the unique features of each vehicle. Perfect for both building and displaying. The Speed Series sets are available for $19. Models include the Cadillac Project GTP Hypercar, a high-performance racer with bold graphics, and opening doors, along with custom decals.

The Maserati MC20 is another option, an Italian luxury replica with butterfly doors and a visible motor, customisable with interchangeable wheel covers and exclusive racing decals. Lastly, the Custom '68 Camaro offers muscle car attitude in brick form, featuring stripes, a wide stance, and metallic exhaust pipes, allowing users to swap out wheel covers and add custom Hot Wheels flair.
