Alongside Orion, Meta unveiled the new Meta Quest 3S headset at Connect 2024. Priced at $299, the Quest 3S packs the same features as its predecessor, the Meta Quest 3. Meta says it’s designed to entice newcomers to mixed reality and immersive experiences, as well as those looking for an affordable upgrade from the Quest or Quest 2.
Meta claims the Quest 3S offers the same impressive mixed reality capabilities and speedy performance as the Meta Quest 3 but at a friendlier price. It also features enhancements in spatial audio, contrast, and colour in Passthrough mode, making the blend of virtual and physical worlds feel even more lifelike. Plus, there’s a new Travel Mode on the way, set to expand to accommodate use on trains and even while lounging around!
In a bid to entice more buyers, Meta is sweetening the deal by bundling the new Batman: Arkham Shadow game with every purchase of the Quest 3 and Quest 3S through April 2025. Launching on October 22, this exclusive game features the iconic Batman and invites players to face off against Gotham City’s most notorious villains. On top of introducing the budget-friendly Meta Quest 3S headset, Meta is also slashing the price of the 512GB Meta Quest 3 from $649 to just $499!
