Realme GT 2 series launched featuring a sustainable paper-like back panel

Being environmentally friendly

From recyclable packaging to removing the charger from the box, smartphone brands have lately taken various steps to being more environmentally friendly. Realme has taken things a step further by using a sustainable material to make the rear shell of its latest Realme GT 2 Pro.
In collaboration with designer Naoto Fukusawa, Realme’s design studio has used a bio-based polymer that mimics the feel of paper to make the back panel for the GT 2 models. The brand says that this polymer offers the same structural integrity, while saving up to 2kg CO2 per kilogram body weight.
As for specs, there’s a 6.7in 2K AMOLED display, the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 under the hood, up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage, and 5G connectivity. It also comes with triple cam setup (50MP+50MP+2MP) at the back, 5,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging, and it runs Android 12.
There’s also a standard Realme GT 2 model featuring a 6.62in FHD+ display, Snapdragon 888 chipset, up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage, triple cam setup (50MP+8MP+2MP) at the back, 16MP selfie snapper, and a 5,000mAh battery.
Prices for the Realme GT 2 Pro models start from ¥3,899 (approx ₹45,600), and go up to ¥4,799 (approx ₹56,300). Prices for the Realme GT 2, on the other hand, start from ¥2,699 (approx ₹31,700) and go up to ¥3,199 (approx ₹37,400).
