Raising the fold!

Samsung has launched a new variant of its Galaxy Z Fold 6 — the Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. This souped-up version comes with larger displays, a 200MP sensor, and a thinner, lighter frame— bringing more to the table than the regular version.

Weighing 236 grams and measuring 10.6mm thick, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Special Edition is highlighted as the lightest and thinnest model in the Galaxy Z Fold series—1.5mm slimmer and 3 grams lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 6

The foldable features a 200MP wide-angle camera, a 6.5-inch cover display, and an 8-inch foldable screen—making it Samsung’s biggest foldable smartphone to date. For a bit of context, the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 sports a 7.6-inch main display and a 6.3-inch cover display.

With a book-style design, the smartphone features a striped pattern on the back, available in a black shadow colour. Samsung states that this smartphone is crafted from premium metal and glass materials, likely akin to the ‘Armor Aluminium’ and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 found in the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

Under the hood, the Special Edition is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. Samsung promises seven years of updates for this smartphone, which means you can expect new Android versions to roll out until 2031. Currently available in select markets, it’s priced at 2,789,600 KRW (approximately ₹1,70,000), making it a tad pricier than the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
