Sony Bravia 5 98-inch mini LED TV launched in India for Rs. 6.49 Lakh

Big, bigger, even-bigger!

Sony has introduced its biggest Bravia 5 yet with a massive 98-inch screen. The TV comes equipped with a 4K UHD (3840×2160) Mini LED panel, driven by the Cognitive Processor XR. It supports multiple HDR formats, including HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision, and features a 40W Acoustic Multi-Audio system with Dolby Atmos. The combination aims to deliver an immersive, theatre-like sound and visual experience right in your living room.

Sony’s Bravia 5 leverages the XR Backlight Master Drive, a Mini LED system with precise local dimming that enables deep blacks and vivid highlights across a range of lighting conditions—from dim candlelit scenes to bright sunrises. At its core is the Cognitive Processor XR, which dynamically adjusts picture and sound based on how humans naturally perceive depth, colour, motion, and contrast.

For content accuracy, the TV comes with Studio Calibrated Mode, along with Netflix Adaptive and Sony Pictures Core modes. Sony also introduces a Prime Video Calibrated Mode, fine-tuned for live sports and other formats to maintain the original creative intent.

Sony’s new 98-inch Bravia 5 TV also comes equipped with Sony Pictures Core, a built-in service that lets you stream a large catalogue of movies in near 4K Blu-ray quality, including IMAX Enhanced titles optimised for the TV’s display and sound systems.

Running on Google TV, the Bravia 5 offers app support and built-in voice control. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, four HDMI ports (with support for 4K at 120Hz, eARC, and VRR), and two USB ports. It also supports DVB-T/T2 and DVB-S/S2 broadcast standards.

Physically, the unit measures 2199 × 1325 × 488 mm with its stand, weighs 71.4 kg, and ships with a remote, power cable, tabletop stand, and setup documentation.

The Bravia 5 is priced at ₹6,49,990.
