The HMD Barbie flip phone is the “pinkest” phone ever!

In full Barbie fashion

This summer, HMD is adding some sparkle to the world of foldables – though it’s far from your typical smartphone. Earlier this year at the World Mobile Congress , the brand introduced the highly anticipated Barbie flip phone, crafted in collaboration with Mattel. Now, it's officially launched.

The feature phone, dressed in vibrant hot pink, comes with a nostalgic twist—no apps, just like the good old days. Its only purpose is to keep you connected with friends and family during a digital detox, all while turning heads.

The phone features a mirror-like finish on its exterior with a small 1.77-inch monochrome cover display for showing the time and date and a vibrant 2.8-inch secondary screen. The box also includes a beaded lanyard adorned with Barbie-themed charms. For those with a creative flair, it comes with a set of sparkly gems and vintage Barbie stickers for customising your flip phone.

The Barbie flip phone features a 0.3 MP camera with an LED flash, dual SIM support with 4G connectivity, a 1,450 mAh battery charged via USB-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It's powered by the Unisoc T107 chip, with 64 MB of RAM and 128 MB of internal storage, expandable up to 32 GB with a microSD card.

Opening the phone reveals a screen reminiscent of Barbie’s DreamHouse, complete with a cheerful ‘Hi Barbie!’ boot-up sound and a fun missed call notification from Ken. The Barbie-pink keypad also has hidden designs of palm trees, hearts, and flamingos that light up in the dark.

To complete the experience, the device has a custom Barbie user interface, adorned with wallpapers and app icons that exude Barbie's signature style. It’s also equipped with self-care features like ‘Digital Balance Tips,’ ‘BarbieMeditation,’ and ‘Self-care Reminders’ to keep you feeling fabulous. The ringtones, including ‘Floating,’ ‘Coastal,’ and ‘DreamHouse,’ are designed to help you stay relaxed and in the moment.

The phone is priced at £99 in select European regions and will hit the US market in October for $129 (approx ₹10,800). It’s currently unclear whether it will be available in India.
