Tis’ seems to be the year for smart rings because even though Galaxy S24s stole the show at Samsung’s first Unpacked event of the year, the brands also took the stage to slip in a hint about the Galaxy Ring – Samsung’s first health-tracking band.
In the sneak peek that wrapped up the Galaxy Unpacked event 2024, the Galaxy Ring took the spotlight, showcasing its sleek, circular design in a black hue. Flip it over, and you'll spot a bunch of sensors doing the heavy lifting. Samsung called it "a powerful and accessible health and wellness device here to change the shape of future health." Chances are the ring will follow in the footsteps of other smart rings and track your heart rate, sleep statistics, temperature, exercise and fitness.
Notably, back in February 2023, Samsung filed a patent that spilled the beans on the Galaxy Ring's mission—"intended to cover the categories of wearable smart devices in the nature of a smart ring for tracking, measuring, monitoring, and uploading health, fitness and sleep-related information."
