MWC 2024: Xiaomi SU7 sedan showcased

Cutting a sporty figure that's hard to miss!

Xiaomi has showcased its debut electric vehicle, the SU7 sedan, at Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona. Sporting an Aqua Blue hue, this car is a real looker to begin with. Its bold headlights and LED accents seem to take a page out of supercar design, perhaps inspired by the McLaren 750S. The back has wraparound tail lights linked by a futuristic LED strip. Top-tier trims will even have an active rear wing and lidar sensors. Couple that with its 19 and 20-inch wheels.

Inside, you'll find a 16.1-inch 3K central console, a 56-inch head-up display, a 7.1-inch rotating dashboard, and cross-device connectivity. Xiaomi's touch extends to the integration of their upcoming HyperOS into the SU7. The operating system enhances the Smart Cabin experience by integrating the central console and HUD. Powered by a Snapdragon 8295 in-car chip and AI computing power of up to 30 TOPS, this is an example of the ‘Human x Car x Home’ smart ecosystem.

The Xiaomi SU7 sedan offers a range of motors — the V6, V6s, and V8s — all featuring Bidirectional Full Oil Cooling Technology with an S-shaped oil circuit design to keep the motors cool even under heavy use.

The top-of-the-line HyperEngine V8s comes with a maximum motor speed of 27,200 rpm, delivering 425kW output and 635Nm peak torque. Xiaomi claims this is a global record for E-motors. It propels the car from 0-100kmph in just 5.3 seconds. For those opting for the V6 variants, the HyperEngine V6 offers a maximum power of 299PS and a maximum torque of 400Nm. Meanwhile, the V6s variant kicks it up a notch with a maximum power of 374PS and a maximum torque of 500Nm.
