CES 2025: Lenovo Legion Go S with SteamOS is the best of both worlds

A new era of handheld gaming

Lenovo has officially unveiled the latest Legion Go S – its latest handheld PC available in both SteamOS and Windows versions. But the real headliner here is the Lenovo Legion Go S powered by SteamOS, marking a milestone as the first officially licensed handheld device powered by Valve’s Linux-based SteamOS.

Designed to deliver a console-like gaming experience, SteamOS integration offers cloud saves, Remote Play for streaming from your PC, and access to the Steam Store and your entire Steam

Library.

Under the hood, the Legion Go S features an 8-inch WUXGA PureSight touch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by either the exclusive Lenovo Legion Go AMD Ryzen Z2 Go processor or the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme. It offers up to 32GB of 7500MHz LPDDR5X RAM and runs on a 3-cell 55.5Whr battery. For connectivity it has Wi-Fi 6E support, dual USB 4 ports, and a microSD card reader, ensuring easy connections to displays and peripherals.

Lenovo has also introduced the Legion Screen Protector designed specifically for the Lenovo Legion Go S. This protector is 0.45mm in thickness and uses high-transparency 9H hardness glass to shield the display from scratches, scrapes, and drops, as per Lenovo.

In addition, Lenovo has also unveiled the Legion Go 2 Prototype. Powered by the new AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor with RDNA 3.5 graphics, this device is equipped with up to 32GB of 7500MHz LPDDR5X RAM.
