Our pick of the best OTT content for the weekend [Apr 8, 2022]

From a politician realising the importance of basic education to supercops and spies, this weekend’s binge guide has something for everyone. We however don’t want you wasting a second wondering where to start or what to watch. So here’s a handy guide on the best new shows or movies to catch up this weekend across popular OTT streaming platforms.

Netflix

Dasvi
Dasvi, as the name suggests, is a socially relevant story about an uneducated politician who wants to turn his life around by appearing for the 10th standard examination from jail. The star cast includes Abhishek Bachchan, Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur.
Metal Lords
From the makers of Game of Thrones and Harold and Kumar comes a coming-of-age story about a group of teenage misfits. A band geek, a rebellious metalhead, and a classical cellist come together to form an unlikely band in the quest to win their town’s Battle of the Bands competition.

Prime Video

All the Old Knives
If you are a fan of a good cat-and-mouse story, get your spy gear ready, because this thriller promises to keep you guessing throughout its runtime. Chris Pine and Thandiwe Newton star as CIA operatives under investigation after a botched rescue operation. The longer the investigation goes, the longer the suspects list gets.

ZEE5

Abhay (S3)
“Bigger, bolder and even more ruthless” is how showmakers are describing the return of Abhay Pratap Singh. Season three will see the supercop (played by Kunal Khemu) face up against hardened murderers played by Tanuj Virwani and Rahul Dev, and more importantly Vijay Raaz who seems to be the head of a cult.

SonyLIV

Gullak (S3)
This light-hearted comedy is back for its third season, and continues to revolve around the Mishra family. The series showcases different stories and everyday experiences of a middle-class family in a small town. The cast includes Jameel Khan, Vaibhav Raj Gupta, Harsh Mayar, Sunita Rajwar and Shivankit Singh Parihar among others.
