Binge Guide: What to watch on OTT platforms this weekend

Our pick of the best OTT content for this weekend

From the reality of Indian matrimony to the inspirational stories of female athletes worldwide, this weekend's guide comes packed with feel-good humour and true stories (with the occasional animated hit series). We’ve sped up the process of having to pick out of the endless content, and have compiled a list to get you glued to the screen as soon as possible. These are our top picks for the weekend, across various genres and popular OTT platforms.

Netflix

Indian Matchmaking

Place all your knowledge about Indian weddings aside, because here comes the one and only Sima from Mumbai, once more. This overly-dramatic docu-drama series follows the incredibly convoluted process of setting up arranged marriages for the Indian upper class based out of India and America. So get ready, grab your popcorn and prepare for some mind-numbing comedy at the cost of these individuals' real-life romantic woes.

Locke & Key S3

We’ve been through a lot with this show, watching the Locke family unravel the truth about Gave and figuring out how they can make Keys themselves. As the show returns for its final season, we once again watch the Locke family and their Keyhouse adventures, with unexpected twists around every corner.

Wedding Season

If you are looking for a good old-fashioned, cheesy rom-com with an Indian twist, do catch Wedding Season. Following the journey of Asha and Ravi who pretend to date each other to escape their parental pressure to find a mate. As you’d expect in true romcom fashion, they start to fall for one another.

Prime Video

A League of their own

Set in sexist 1943, Carson Shaw travels to Chicago to try out for the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League where she meets other women like herself. She makes connections that help her pursue her dreams and open up the world for her and several other like-minded women. The comedy-drama television series is both inspiring and enjoyable starring Chanté Adams, D’Arcy Carden, Roberta Colindrez, Gbemisola Ikumel, Kelly McCormack, and Priscilla Delgado.

Disney+ Hotstar

I am Groot

I am Groot I am Groot I am Groot I am Groot I am Groot I am Groot I am Groot I am Groot…. (Just kidding). Prepare for another MCU show, only this time it’s following the storyline of the mischievous toddler Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) as he learns how to grow up alongside his ragtag team of superheroes, The Guardians of the Galaxy. If it’s anything like the movies in the past, you can expect a whole lot of laughs along the way.

Voot Select

Window Seat

Raghu is a die-hard romantic who travels via train every day and sits on the same seat just to catch a glimpse of the girl he likes (some would say sweet, some would say creepy). This very seat leads him on a wild and unexpected journey, where he is forced to witness life altering secrets.
