CES 2024: Samsung’s new QLED, OLEDs and Micro LED TVs

Better than before!

Samsung's latest TV lineup for CES 2024 is out. It’s got the Neo QLED 8K and 4K TVs packed with their own AI chip, a fresh Tizen OS with a new look and gaming features, and a bunch of updated OLEDs. Take a look at what they've got in store!

1) Neo QLED TV with built-in AI

The 2024 Neo QLED TV from Samsung is set to come in both 8K and 4K versions. The major boost arriving in this TV line is the upgraded Samsung NQ8 AI Gen3 chipset. This new chipset has a neural processing unit (NPU) that's way more potent than the previous one, with Samsung claiming it's twice as speedy.
The fresh chipset also brings in a bunch of AI-powered tricks for the TV. There's the 8K AI Upscaling Pro that's said to refine lower-res videos to higher resolutions using AI. Plus, there's the AI Motion Enhancer Pro, detecting sports scenes and tweaking the visuals for smoother action. In the audio department, this smart TV's got the Active Voice Amplifier Pro, enhancing dialogues and voices on screen. Samsung also mentioned boosting accessibility in the Neo QLED TV 2024. They're rolling out Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tech, offering real-time voice guidance for subtitles. Plus, there are more features like Relumino, revamping colours and details for folks with low vision.

2) Micro LED

Samsung is set to unveil its transparent MICRO LED display tech at CES 2024. This revolutionary screen features transparency without any seams or light distortions, achieved through MICRO LED chips and precise manufacturing techniques, according to Samsung. The display will have the chip operation circuits directly embedded onto the glass, setting it apart from traditional displays.

3) New OLED TVs

Samsung's 2024 OLED TV lineup features the S95D, flaunting a 77-inch variant. This screen is claimed to be 20% brighter than its predecessors and has Pantone Validated AI-enhanced colour accuracy. Alongside, Samsung introduces the S90D and S85D in a range of sizes from 42-inch to 83-inch. These TVs come equipped with the new 'OLED Glare Free' technology, aiming to maintain colour precision while minimising pesky reflections. Notably, the S95D stands out as Samsung's brightest OLED screen yet with refresh rates of up to 144Hz.

4) 2024 Tizen OS

Samsung's 2024 Tizen OS, which would power the Samsung display line, promises a tailored experience based on individual user accounts, as revealed by the company. With this new OS, Samsung smart TVs will allow different household members to create personalised profiles, getting content suggestions that match their preferences.

The upcoming Tizen OS update also brings support for the "Designed for Samsung Gaming Hub" controller, slated to debut at CES 2024. This wireless gaming controller will have a rechargeable battery, a 30-foot Bluetooth connection with low latency, and a dedicated Samsung Gaming Hub home button for quick access on the Tizen OS.
