Xiaomi SU7 all-electric sedan is the brand’s first car ever!

Talk about upgrading from pocket-size tech to road-size innovation

Xiaomi has jumped into the automotive world with its inaugural electric vehicle, the SU7. The vehicle offers two powertrains: a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) variant boasting 299 hp and a top speed of 210 kph, and a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive (AWD) version generating 673 hp and reaching speeds of up to 265 kph.

The SU7 will be available with two battery options – an entry-level lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery sourced from BYD and a larger CATL pack for the premium version. However, specific battery capacities and range details are still pending confirmation.

The Xiaomi SU7 boasts dimensions of 4,997mm in length, 1,963mm in width, 1,440mm in height, and features a wheelbase of 3,000mm. Its weight varies between 1,980kg to 2,205kg, depending on the chosen specifications.

Equipped with Xiaomi's proprietary HyperOS, an internally developed operating system compatible with both smartphones and automobiles, the SU7 is expected to offer users a choice between two interior themes. Additionally, it is expected to include a sizable, horizontally-oriented central touchscreen infotainment system.

Scheduled for mass production to kick off in December 2023, deliveries of the SU7 are slated to begin by February 2024. BAIC’s Beijing factory has initiated trial production, and several test vehicles are already on the roads.
