Kingston FURY, the high-performance arm of Kingston Technology, has just announced its latest bit of speedy storage for those who demand the absolute max from their rigs: the Kingston FURY Renegade G5 PCIe 5.0 NVMe M.2 SSD. Launched May 13th. This drive is aimed squarely at gamers and high-power users who want to eliminate storage bottlenecks and slash those pesky load times. If you're into high-intensity gaming, heavy editing, or data-heavy workflows, Kingston reckons this is the drive for you.

The Renegade G5 leverages the latest PCIe Gen5 x4 controller and 3D TLC NAND to achieve some frankly ludicrous speeds. We're talking up to 14,800MB/s read and 14,000MB/s write speeds, with over 2 million IOPS performance on certain models. That's quick enough to make your old hard drive weep. Despite this power, Kingston has engineered it for smooth operation and efficiency, using a Silicon Motion SM2508 controller built on 6nm lithography and a low-power DDR4 DRAM cache to help manage heat and energy consumption.

It comes in a compact M.2 2280 form factor, designed to slot easily into most modern motherboards, and it’s also backwards compatible with Gen3 and Gen4 systems, though you'll need a Gen5 setup to hit those top speeds. The drive is DirectStorage supported, which is good news for future gaming enhancements.

The Kingston FURY Renegade G5 is available in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities, so you can choose how much space you need for your ever-expanding game library or massive project files. It's backed by a limited five-year warranty and free technical support.
