Lumio Vision 9 and Lumio Vision 7 could be the snappiest telly around!

Never miss an IPL wicket to app load times

It’s a TV launch sort of week, the Xiaomi X Pro QLED just launched and hot on the heels is Lumio, a start-up by ex-Xiaomi India employees. Exciting, eh? Lumio is crashing the telly party with two shiny new ranges: the Lumio Vision 9 and Lumio Vision 7. Their big, bold claim? They’ve built "India's fastest Smart TVs" to banish the buffering blues and laggy interfaces that apparently plague a whopping 60 million sets sold in the last eight years.

So, what's under the hood? The flagship Lumio Vision 9 is a 55-inch QD-Mini LED beast, boasting 1920 mini-LEDs for knockout contrast and a retina-searing 900 nits peak brightness. Its sibling, the Lumio Vision 7, rocks a premium QLED panel and comes in more lounge-friendly 43, 50, and 55-inch sizes, hitting a still-respectable 400 nits.

Both lines are powered by Lumio's "Boss Processor" (subtle!) paired with 3GB RAM, aiming for that zippy performance they keep banging on about. They promise top-notch colour accuracy (Delta E < 1.71 for the 9, < 1.08 for the 7) and pack Dolby Vision and Atmos support, pumped through a quad-speaker system with extra-large cavities for boomier sound. Connectivity seems sorted with plenty of HDMI and USB ports, plus Wi-Fi. They run Google TV, giving you access to squillions of apps and shows.

But wait, there's more! Lumio has cooked up a nifty little "TLDR" app (geddit?) aimed squarely at sports nuts and music lovers. It pulls live sports scores, schedules, highlights, and trending music playlists into one slick interface, saving you from endless scrolling. There's even a dedicated TLDR button on the "Minion" remote. Nice touch.

Worried about longevity? Lumio says its TVs endure over 60 quality tests for Indian conditions and come with a 2-year warranty (bumped to 3 years if you pre-order) and support from over 300 service centres. Pre-orders kick off on Amazon.in from April 23rd. Prices start at a rather tempting ₹29,999 for the 43-inch Vision 7, rising to ₹59,999 for the 55-inch Vision 9.
