Good news for content addicts: Netflix just launched a new low-cost plan. As of now, the new tier is only launched in 12 countries except India but we can all pray for it to become successful so that it comes to the country soon.

Touted as Basic With Ads, the plan will cost $3 less than the Basic plan that comes at around $9.99 per month. As the name suggests, the new ad-supported basic plan will have around four to five minutes of advertisement each hour. So, if you don't mind small breaks in the middle of an enthralling scene, you may save a couple of bucks.

Netflix also confirmed that users will get up to 30 seconds of ad breaks before the start of  any show or movie. Plus, the ad-supported Basic will not offer an option to download videos and will only have a limited number of movies and TV shows in the beginning because of licensing restrictions.

While there is no information as to when this plan could be extended to India, Netflix certainly assured that it will expand to more countries. At present the basic subscription plan comes at ₹ 149 per month in India. So anything cheaper than that would have a lot of takers.
