WhatsApp is adding handy new features to make group calls easier to plan and join. The new “Schedule call” option lets you set a date and time for a call, send out invitations to contacts or groups, and even share a dedicated link so nobody misses out. It's found under the + button in the Calls tab.

The Calls tab will also show all upcoming calls with their attendee lists, and you can drop links straight into your calendar. To top it off, WhatsApp will send a reminder notification to everyone just before the call kicks off.

WhatsApp is also bringing a bit more order to group calls with two interactive tools. A “raise hand” button, much like the one in Google Meet, lets you signal when you’d like to speak, while reaction emojis offer a quick way to respond without breaking the flow of conversation.

Call link creators now get better control too, with notifications whenever someone joins via the link, making it easier to keep tabs on attendance in real time.

And, as always, WhatsApp stresses that every call stays protected with end-to-end encryption, so only participants can access what’s shared.
