Airbnb’s app makeover adds Services to book chefs, trainers, and spas along with a stay

Airbnb 2.0– part stay, part concierge, part adventure curator!

Airbnb’s tossing out the old playbook with a new revamp of its iOS and Android apps—and it’s more than just about nabbing a chic crash pad. The platform unveiled a new addition called Airbnb Services, while giving Airbnb Experiences a much-needed sparkle.

Services are about the extras that turn a stay into an experience—think photographers, spa treatments, manis, massages, private chefs, even your own personal trainer. At launch, there are 10 categories to offer – chefs, photographers, massage therapists, spa pros, personal trainers, hairstylists, makeup artists, nail techs, prepped meals, and full-on catering.

To pull all this off, Airbnb’s giving its app a redesign. Services and Experiences are getting their own new tabs right up top, alongside Homes. The whole thing feels more like a savvy travel sidekick now, bundling your stay, spa session, and sunset cruise into one itinerary, complete with handy reminders.

At launch, Services will roll out in 260 cities worldwide, so chances are, wherever you’re headed, your private chef or massage therapist won’t be far behind. Airbnb also now lets you browse homes, services, and experiences all in one search—so you can plan the whole vibe, not just the venue. Behind the scenes, Airbnb says it has built an entirely new tech stack that adds capacity for these new offerings and sets up a large runway for the future.
Airbnb ensures it thoroughly vets the service providers to make sure they bring around a decade of industry experience to the table. Every instructor or specialist also undergoes a strict verification process, including proof of relevant training and certifications, so you can book with confidence.
