Amazon's third-generation Echo Show 5 features a smart display with Alexa

Amazon has refreshed its smart display lineup with the Echo Show 5 (3rd Gen), featuring a 5.5-inch screen, enhanced audio, and built-in home monitoring capabilities. According to Amazon, this latest version delivers its best sound yet in the compact Echo Show series, with twice the bass and crisper vocals compared to the previous model.

It’s powered by a 1.7-inch rear-firing speaker and supports hands-free streaming from platforms like Amazon Music, Spotify, Apple Music, JioSaavn, and Audible.

The Echo Show 5 (3rd Gen) gets a subtle design refresh with rounded edges and an infinity cover glass, giving it a cleaner, more modern appearance. The user interface has also been fine-tuned to reduce eye strain—especially in low-light settings—while making it easy to glance at essentials like the weather, camera feeds, or smart home controls right from the display.

Beyond looks, the device is geared for smart home integration. It works with compatible devices, letting users control lights, fans, ACs, geysers, and more via Alexa voice commands or the touchscreen. The built-in camera enables live monitoring from video doorbells and security cameras, and thanks to the Drop In feature, you can make instant video calls or check in remotely using the Alexa app or other Alexa-enabled devices.

Under the hood, the Echo Show 5 (3rd Gen) is powered by Amazon’s upgraded AZ2 Neural Edge processor, enabling faster responses and smoother interactions. It also features an enhanced microphone array for improved voice recognition and command accuracy, even in noisy environments.

Privacy remains a key focus, with the device offering a physical camera shutter, a microphone mute button, and easy-to-access privacy controls via the Alexa app, including the ability to review or delete voice recordings.

The new Echo Show 5 is available in two stylish colours—Charcoal and Cloud Blue—and is priced at Rs. 10,999.
