Apple’s latest 13- and 15‑inch MacBook Air are powered by M3 chip

And are ‘less than half an inch thin’

Apple has dropped two fresh MacBook Air models, packing the latest M3 chip. You’ve got options too – a 13-inch screen or a 15-inch one. Price-wise, the 13-inch MacBook Air with M3 kicks off at ₹114,900, while the 15-inch model starts at ₹134,900.

Apple says that the new MacBook Air models, powered by the M3 chip, are ‘up to 60 per cent faster’ than the M1 MacBook Air. They have a battery life lasting up to 18 hours on a single charge. Both the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air are sleek, measuring ‘less than half an inch thin’. The devices come with support for Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos, and are equipped with a 1080p camera and three microphones. The laptops feature a silent fanless design and support MagSafe charging.

The MacBook Air with the M3 chip features a 'Liquid Retina' display that reaches up to 500 nits of brightness. The M3 chip features a 16-core Neural Engine. Apple claims this setup can efficiently handle AI tasks like real-time speech-to-text, text predictions, and translations. Under the hood, the M3 chip packs an 8-core processor, a 10-core integrated GPU with ray-tracing and mesh shading capabilities, and supports up to 24GB of unified memory. Plus, it also has improved media capabilities, including AV1 decode for better video streaming quality.

According to Apple, the new MacBook Air models support two external displays even when the laptop lid is closed. They come equipped with two Thunderbolt ports and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The laptops are available in four colours – midnight, starlight, space grey, and silver.
