Apple’s latest Mac Mini is redesigned into a compact machine powered by the M4 chip

It's time for a tiny tech takeover!

Apple has launched the all-new Mac mini, running on M4 chips and wrapped in a remarkably compact design. At just 5 inches by 5 inches, Apple says, it’s less than half the size of its predecessor—delivering big power in a sleek package. The standard model of Mac Mini comes with the M4 chip, while a more powerful version is available with the new M4 Pro chip.

When it comes to performance, the M4-powered Mac mini packs a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, now starting with a minimum of 16GB of unified memory for smooth multitasking. Meanwhile, the M4 Pro version takes things up a notch, featuring up to 14 CPU cores (10 performance and 4 efficiency cores) and a powerhouse 20-core GPU. On top of that, the M4 Pro brings in Thunderbolt 5, amping up data transfer speeds to 120 Gb/s—over twice the speed of Thunderbolt 4. Apple has also announced that the new Mac mini embraces Apple Intelligence, the company’s suite of AI-powered features designed to tackle complex tasks with ease.

The new Mac mini is packed with connectivity options, featuring front-facing ports for easy access. On the front, you'll discover two USB-C ports that support USB 3, along with an audio jack for your headphones or speakers. Flip it around to the back, and you’ll find the M4 model equipped with three Thunderbolt 4 ports, while the M4 Pro version takes it further with three Thunderbolt 5 ports.

For networking, both models include Gigabit Ethernet, which can be upgraded to 10Gb for those who demand higher speeds. Plus, there’s an HDMI port, making it easy to connect to your TV or any HDMI-compatible display. The M4-powered Mac mini supports up to two 6K displays and one 5K display, while the M4 Pro model can handle up to three 6K displays at 60Hz—perfect for a multi-monitor setup!

Apple has also revealed that this compact design is a result of the impressive power efficiency of Apple Silicon, paired with a new thermal architecture for optimal heat dissipation. Notably, the new Mac mini is also the first carbon-neutral Mac, crafted with over 50% recycled materials, including an enclosure made entirely from 100% recycled aluminium. As for pricing, the Mac mini with the M4 chip starts at ₹59,900, while the M4 Pro model begins at ₹1,49,900.
