If you’ve been on the fence about investing in an Apple TV, here’s some news for you. The brand is reportedly working on a cheaper Apple TV variant, which could take on Amazon’s Fire TV Stick.
As per analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, this cheaper Apple TV could be launching in the second half of this year. The reason cited for such a launch is said to be an ‘aim to close the gap with competitors’.
In India, prices for the Apple TV start from ₹15,900 for the HD version, and go up to ₹18,900 for the 4K version. In comparison, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max costs around ₹6,499. It is clear that with a more affordable version, Apple will try and close the gap with Amazon’s streaming devices.
There’s however not a lot of info on this upcoming Apple TV in terms of the resolution support and more. It also remains to be seen if this cheaper streaming device will be a box or an HDMI stick similar to the ones we see from the likes of Amazon, Xiaomi, Realme, and Roku.
