They say everyone looks more attractive in a red dress (yes, even you would), well time to test that out on the Audi A4. The car has been given two new skins, Tango Red and Manhattan Grey. That’s not all, there are a few upgrades to the interiors too.
While the exterior has a modern and sporty design with dynamic proportions, it’s the broader, flatter single-frame grille gives the A4 a large-car feel. The horizontal lines along the car emphasize width while the cuts add sleek definition. The A4 has a glass sunroof too, oozing luxury.
But the inside is where the fun stuff lies. The car will flaunt B&O’s premium sound system with 3D sound. There are 19 speakers – including a centre speaker and subwoofer, 16 Channel amplifier and an output of 755 Watts. There is a large MMI touch display as the control centre and the ambient lighting offers 30 colour options. There is wireless charging for your smartphone and three-zone climate control on board. The steering wheel sees changes too with a 3-spoke, flat-bottomed steering wheel on the Technology model. There is gesture control for the boot and Park Assist for greater safety and convenience.
Audi wants the MMI system to feel like your smartphone so they added acoustic feedback to the 25.65cms TFT display touch display. The graphics are clean and legible. Another impressive update is the natural-language voice control that understands many of the phrases of our new age lingo. The MMI Navigation Plus features the all-digital Audi Virtual Cockpit plus which is controlled using the multifunction steering wheel itself.
Under the hood, the 2.0L TFSI engine churns out 190hp (140kW) combining the 320Nm of torque with smooth running and a long range. The car can do 0-100kph in 7.3 seconds and has a top speed of 241kph. The 12V mild hybrid system makes an appearance here and helps minimize fuel consumption. This system has a belt alternator starter that shuts off the engine while coasting up to 10 sec between 55 and 160 kph.
The Audi A4 is available in three Variants — Premium, Premium Plus and Technology, priced at ₹43.12 lakh, ₹47.27 lakh and ₹50.99 lakh, respectively (ex-showroom).
