BMW X3 xDrive20d M Sport Shadow Edition launched for ₹74.90 lakh (ex-showroom)

BMW has rolled out the new X3 xDrive20d M Sport Shadow Edition with a premium price tag of ₹74.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This special edition model is ₹1.40 lakh more expensive than the standard X3, for it's packed with a range of features to cater to the discerning auto enthusiasts.

Step inside the cabin, and you'll be enveloped in a Mocha and Black colour scheme, complemented by contrasting blue stitching. The Leather Vernasca seat upholstery and the M Sport package, complete with Sports Seats. Plus, there's an M leather steering wheel with multifunction buttons, and M interior trim.

For those with a penchant for darker shades, you can opt for the all-black theme with the Black Edition Package, featuring an M Performance rear spoiler, M side strip in Frozen Black, and M side logo in high-gloss black. Or, if you seek a more performance-oriented look and feel, indulge in the Carbon Edition Package, which adds elements such as a gear lever in carbon fibre and an entry sill in the same material.

Other features in the Shadow Edition include a panoramic glass roof, a welcome light carpet (that'll have you feeling like royalty), and electroplated controls that (sure )add a touch of sophistication. Plus, you can bask in the embrace of 3-zone automatic climate control, and savour the convenience of roller sunblinds for the rear windows, as well as ambient Lighting with six dimmable designs. 

For added safety, BMW has added blind spot detection, a 360-degree camera, Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, and ADAS features like lane change assist and collision avoidance system. Plus, there's BMW Live Cockpit Professional running on BMW Operating System 7.0, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, gesture control, a 12.3-inch driver's display, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and a Head-up display.

While the overall exterior design of the M Sport Shadow Edition remains a familiar sight, BMW has spiced things up with some sporty visual highlights. The Shadow Edition features a blacked-out kidney grille and the BMW Laser Light tech with its unique blue accents. The taillights have also received a smokey gloss black treatment. And if that's not enough to get your heart racing, the gloss black finish has been carried over to the window graphics, roof rails, and the BMW kidney frame and bars.

The M Sport Shadow Edition rides on 19-inch Y-spoke style alloy wheels. At the rear, the twin exhaust tailpipes have a sleek gloss black finish, adding a touch of sportiness to the overall design. When it comes to exterior colour choices, BMW offers this special edition model in two metallic shades – Brooklyn Grey and Carbon Black.

Under the hood, the special edition BMW X3 M Sport has a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 187 bhp and 400 Nm of peak torque. BMW says this powertrain propels the vehicle from a standstill to 100 kmph in a brisk 7.9 seconds, with a top speed of 213 kmph. Harnessing this power is an eight-speed automatic transmission that channels it to all four wheels through BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system. So go on, get your Shadow edition, already!
