Bose SoundLink Flex promises ‘astonishing’ sound in a rugged body

Flexing on the competition

Bose has just launched the SoundLink Flex with its grabbable and rugged design. Despite its rugged looks and compact size, the speakers promise ‘astonishing’ audio performance.

The speaker is quite compact, weighing in at just over one pound, and features a soft silicone back and powder-coated steel grille that work together to protect the speaker from drops and bumps. Those who love the outdoors will also appreciate the built-in utility loop that can be attached to a carabiner.

Needless to say the speaker is built to withstand the outdoors with IP67 rating. This makes it waterproof, dustproof and durable. In fact, Bose says that it’ll float to the surface when dropped into water. Battery life is rated at up to 12 hours.

The SoundLink Flex is said to be capable of producing “bass that you can feel in your chest.” It also comes with Bose calls ‘PositionIQ’ tech, which detects the speaker’s orientation – upright, hanging or flat on its back – and tunes the audio output accordingly.

Other features include Bluetooth pairing, built-in microphone for calling, and the ability to tune the audio via the Bose Connect app. The Bose SoundLink Flex is priced at ₹15,900, and is available in black, white smoke and stone blue colour options.
