Sony has officially launched its flagship Bravia 9 television series in India, promising to elevate your home entertainment experience with vivid colours, deep blacks, and a well-tuned balance of natural hues. After all, the 75-inch model is priced at ₹4,49,990, while the 85-inch variant will set you back ₹5,99,990. And, at these prices, you're not just paying for extra inches—you’re investing in a meticulously crafted visual masterpiece designed to transform your living room into a private cinema.
At the core of the Bravia 9 series lies Sony’s advanced AI Processor XR, driving the XR Backlight Master Drive. This tech employs a specialised local dimming algorithm to manage thousands of LEDs, ensuring precise contrast and preserving intricate shadow details. Coupled with High Peak Luminance, it is said to deliver brightness that enhances the nuanced contrast for a dynamic and engaging viewing experience.
Sony says the AI Processor XR emulates human perception of sight and sound. It features a scene recognition system that detects and analyses content in real-time, adjusting the picture to reflect the filmmaker’s vision. The Bravia 9 also features Acoustic Multi-Audio+ tech, incorporating a Beam Tweeter at the top and Frame Tweeters along the side.
Building on Sony’s Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode and Sony Pictures Core Calibrated Mode, the series introduces Prime Video Calibrated Mode, which automatically optimises picture quality for movies, series, and, for the first time, live sports. The Bravia 9 series is also IMAX Enhanced and supports both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
For gamers, the Bravia 9 is equipped with Auto HDR Tone Mapping. Auto Game Mode ensures minimal lag and quick response times, automatically switching to Game Mode when paired with a PS5 to optimise performance, then reverting to Standard Mode for movies. Plus, it comes with support for 4K at 120fps, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM).
