Citroën C3 Aircross unveiled and is set to launch in India in late 2023

A strong midsize SUV competitor

Citroen is bringing its new C3 Aircross SUV to India, which has been designed with direct input from local consumers and regional teams and will be produced in Thiruvallur, India. With 90% local integration, the car comes with two seating layouts. While it shares its C3 moniker, styling cues and powertrain with the C3 hatchback, it is significantly larger and will compete in the midsize SUV space. The C3 Aircross is built on the brand’s CMP modular platform and has a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine that delivers 110hp. The SUV will go on sale in India in the second half of 2023, and the price will be announced later in the year.

Citroen has equipped the C3 Aircross with two seating options – a standard five-seat iteration and a three-row layout good for seven passengers. It also gets an additional set of AC vents for the second and third-row passengers and a full-digital multi-colour instrument cluster with multiple drive modes. The SUV has round wheel arches, a 2,671mm wheelbase, and added cladding just below the doors. It has a large tailgate, tall bumpers with adequate cladding, and squarish tail lamps that are larger in size. The SUV also comes with a 10.2in touchscreen for infotainment.

Citroen is so confident in the C3 Aircross that it's only offering one engine option – and let's be real, it's all you need. With 110hp and 190Nm of torque, it may not be the biggest or most powerful, but it gets the job done. And if you need extra space, the seven-seater option has got you covered – just be prepared to sacrifice some boot space.

But let's talk about the real selling point here– the C3 Aircross's styling. With its unmistakable Citroen family cues and chrome and piano black inserts, this car is the definition of class. If you think it looks like the smaller C3, think again – it's significantly larger and has its own unique styling.

So if you're in the market for a new SUV, the C3 Aircross is definitely worth a look. And with Citroen doubling its number of dealerships in India, you won't have to go far to find one. Just make sure you hold out until the second half of 2023 when it goes on sale.
