DJI’s newest microphone is about portability and convenience. The transmitter is tiny and light. The DJI Mic 3 is slimmer and lighter than the Mic 2. Its transmitter is 16g versus 28g, and the charging case drops from 200g to 164g.
The redesigned charging case is sleeker on the outside and spacious inside, with enough room to store transmitters, a receiver, clips, magnets, furry windscreens, and even a 3.5mm cable for connecting directly to a camera. It also features a bigger battery, offering up to 28 hours of recording time on a full charge.
Audio quality stays top-notch with options for 24-bit/48kHz or 32-bit float recording, but DJI has added some smart upgrades. You get two levels of noise cancellation, three vocal style presets to tweak the tone of your voice, and even the ability to transmit full lossless, uncompressed audio directly from transmitter to receiver.
With the new DJI Mic 3, you get a wireless transmission distance of up to 400 meters, which means you can record clean audio even when you’re far from the camera. Each transmitter also comes with 32GB of built-in storage, enough for hours of recording, even at the professional 32-bit float quality.
One of its standout features is Adaptive Gain Control, which automatically adjusts audio levels in real time. So whether it’s a loud bus passing by or a friend leaning in too close to share the mic, your recording stays smooth without distortion.
The Mic 3 also joins DJI’s OsmoAudio ecosystem, which means it can connect straight to cameras like the Osmo Action 5 Pro and Osmo Pocket 3, no receiver required. And, for the first time on a DJI wireless mic, you also get timecode support, making it far easier to sync audio across multiple devices. The system can also expand to support up to four transmitters and eight receivers at once.
The DJI Mic 3 is priced at $99 (approx. Rs. 8700).
