DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro is a feature-packed camera for some pro-level action

Equipped for adventure!

DJI's answer to GoPro’s new Hero lineup is the Osmo Action 5 Pro. This latest addition to DJI’s Osmo action camera series aims to blend pro-level image quality with the tough-as-nails durability of an action cam. With a new image sensor promising sharper visuals and better low-light shots, it features a dynamic range of up to 13.5 stops, a built-in pressure sensor, and subject tracking, plus a claimed battery life of up to four hours.

The Osmo Action 5 Pro is equipped with a next-gen 1/1.3-inch sensor featuring a 2.4 μm pixel size. You can capture images in 10-bit D-Log M, and it supports hybrid log-gamma (HLG) for high-brightness displays. For video, it shoots 4K/60fps, even in low-light conditions. And, with SuperNight mode and AI-powered noise reduction, this action cam pushes through the darkness to deliver cleaner, clearer footage, according to DJI.

The camera comes with built-in subject centering and tracking, which detects a subject's position and adjusts the composition to keep them framed. According to DJI, the camera can handle depths of up to 20 metres without a case. A built-in colour temperature sensor ensures accurate, vibrant colours beneath the surface, while the camera can automatically start and stop recording when submerged and resurfaced. It even features a pressure gauge that tracks underwater depth, duration, and altitude for safety during your adventures.

It sports larger front and rear tempered glass touchscreens, now upgraded with OLED high-brightness displays that reach a peak brightness of 1000 cd/m². By increasing the screen size and narrowing the bezels, DJI has also bumped up the screen-to-body ratio by 16% compared to its predecessor.

The Osmo Action 5 Pro is said to offer four hours of continuous use on a single battery—50% more than the previous model. This upgrade is courtesy of a power-efficient 4nm chip, a larger 1950mAh battery, and a proprietary DJI algorithm that maximises energy savings. Even in frigid temperatures as low as -20°C (-4°F), it can record for up to 3.6 hours. Plus, with the fast-charging DJI 30W USB-C Charger, you can grab 2 hours of shooting time after just a quick 15-minute charge.

Other features include 47GB of built-in storage, support for high-speed transfers up to 80MB/s via Wi-Fi 6.0 or USB 3.0, and Wi-Fi live streaming in various resolutions. Features like Timecode for easy multi-camera syncing, Live Photos, Pre-Rec for capturing moments before hitting record, and Highlights for marking key moments simplify the shooting and editing process.
