Fitbit’s next-gen wearables powered by Google are available in India now

Makes sense!

Fitbit is probably the only wearable giant that still focuses on the consumers and their health rather than existing for the sole purpose of making a profit for themselves. With that being said, some decisions that reflect the statement made above are the fact that the new generation of Fitbit devices are compatible with older gen chargers, the new straps are also backward compatible and some of the new features will also be trickled down to older-gen wearables! The new devices in question are the Fitbit Inspire 3 (₹8999), Fitbit Versa 4 (₹20,499) and Fitbit Sense 2 (₹24,999).

The Inspire 3 is the most accessible in the family of products and  boasts a 10 day battery life with a rich color display that can track important metrics. The Fitbit Versa 4 is catered towards the more fitness-focused folks and offers over 40 exercise modes, real-time stats, built-in GPS and Active Zone Minutes, plus Premium features like Daily Readiness Score – all with 6 days of battery life in a thinner and lighter design. The Sense 2 is the most serious of the lot  and helps you manage stress and track your heart health with sensors that can detect signs of atrial fibrillation through the Fitbit ECG app and PPG algorithm (both FDA cleared and CE marked), heart rate variability, skin temperature and more. It also includes a new Body Response sensor, which measures cEDA for all-day stress management.

If reading all those health terms gave you stress, don’t fret, the new Fitbit wearables come with a 6 month premium membership (after which it is Rs. 99/month or Rs. 999/year) which enables you to have all that data in the app in a simple to understand format. It even tells you what steps you can take to manage your stress with active nudges and notifications. What we found really interesting was the new Sleep Profiles integrated into fun animals with distinct sleep characteristics for each so that you can aim to eliminate stress and sleep well like a bear, or a parrot or a turtle! Fun! The wearables will be available via all major offline and online retail outlets.
