Game of Thrones came to an end back in 2019, but that is not the last we see of some of them. HBO seems to be in the early stages of working on a spin–off for the wildly popular series, with a focus on Jon Snow.
The series will succeed the Game of Thrones timeline, with Kit Harrington all set to reprise his role as Westeros’ most depressed sack of fur, Hollywood Reporter reports. Some of you may remember the painfully unsatisfying ending to the show, while for others, we shan’t spoil it (though, if you haven’t seen it by now you probably never will.)
But to put it briefly, the melancholy sasquatch Snow left Westeros to travel beyond the Wall and live out the rest of his days with the Free Folk aka Wildlings.
The spinoff is believed to follow what he does next, because let’s be honest, the happenings north of the Wall were definitely the most riveting part of Game of Thrones.
Although no Game of Thrones veterans, other than Harington, have yet been confirmed as returning for this new series, we can hope and expect a few.
This new Jon Snow series now becomes the eighth Game of Thrones spinoff to be announced, with four other live-action series and three animated series in varying stages of development starting with House of the Dragon prequel series hitting our screens on August 21.
