HP Omen Max 16 gaming laptop launched in India for ₹3,09,999

HP has officially launched the Omen Max 16 in India, heralding it as the brand’s most powerful gaming laptop. The Omen Max 16 features a peak 250W Total Performance Power (TPP) — with 75W dedicated to the CPU and 175W to the GPU, per HP. 

At its heart lies Intel’s formidable 24-core Ultra 9-275HX processor, paired with Nvidia’s RTX 5080 GPU, making it a performance beast on paper and (most likely) in practice. This is backed by Omen AI tech, which, as per the brand, dynamically manages performance and thermals in real time to maximise efficiency during intense gaming sessions. 

Visually, it features a 16-inch 2560×1600 IPS display with a 240Hz refresh rate, 500 nits peak brightness, full sRGB colour coverage, and variable refresh rate (VRR) support. Above the display sits an HP True Vision 1080p IR webcam with temporal noise reduction and a physical privacy shutter, supporting Windows Hello for biometric login.

The Omen Max 16 features the Omen Tempest Cooling Pro architecture, a dual-fan system bolstered by heat pipes, a vapour chamber covering 61% of the motherboard, and the brand’s own OMEN Cryo Compound — a hybrid of liquid metal and thermal grease designed for superior heat transfer. There’s also Fan Cleaner Technology, which periodically reverses fan direction to reduce dust build-up and improve longevity.

Gamers can personalise their setup through Omen Light Studio, which controls per-key RGB lighting on the HyperX-inspired keyboard and an optional RGB light bar, allowing for full visual synchronisation with your gaming environment.

The laptop also integrates with HyperX peripherals using Ultra Low Latency Gen 3 tech. HP has introduced a new radio frequency design and optimised antenna placement, enabling users to connect up to three HyperX devices with fast responsiveness and minimal lag. All of this comes together within the OMEN Gaming Hub, HP’s central dashboard for fine-tuning performance profiles, power modes, and cooling strategies.
