Huawei Mate Xs 2 launched with a fold-out design

Bucking the trend

While smartphone brands are still dipping their feet into the foldable space, Huawei has gone ahead and launched yet another device, albeit with a slightly different design. Instead of the inward-folding design we’ve seen so far, the new Huawei Mate Xs 2 boasts an outward-folding design.
Successor to the Mate Xs, the Huawei Mate Xs 2 comes with a sleeker design, and a more durable double rotating hinge mechanism. Huawei also says that there will be no visible crease when the 7.8in OLED screen is unfolded.
The outer display features a 2480x2200 pixels resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, while on the inside is a 6.5in display with 2480x1176 pixels. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip paired with up to 12GB of RAM. There’s also 512GB of storage on board.
Other features include a triple camera setup (50MP+13MP+8MP) at the back, 10.7MP selfie camera, 4,600mAh battery with 66W fast charging, dual-SIM support, and it runs HarmonyOS 2.
The Huawei Mate Xs 2 however joins a list of exciting devices that you can’t buy. It has only been launched in China with no word on an international launch. Prices start from ¥9,999 (approx ₹1,15,800), and go up to ¥12,999 (approx ₹1,50,600).
