Hyundai Inster EV features a claimed range of 355 km!

Based on Hyundai Casper!

Hyundai Motor Company has showcased the all-new Inster sub-compact EV at the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show. Based on the Hyundai Casper, this model is set to be the company's entry-level EV for global markets.  The big question: Will the Inster make its way to India? Well, Hyundai hasn't spilled the beans yet!

The Inster will have two battery options – a standard 42 kWh pack and a long-range 49 kWh pack. Both variants feature a single motor, delivering 71.1 kW of power in the 42 kWh model and 84.5 kW in the 49 kWh version, with a torque output of 147 Nm for both.

The long-range Inster model features a WLTP range of 355 km, while the standard model delivers 300 km on a single charge. Hyundai claims that the Inster can juice up from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes using a 120 kW DC fast charger, and it comes with an 11 kW onboard charger as a standard feature. The standard version hits a top speed of 140 km/h and goes from 0-100 km/h in 11.7 seconds. Meanwhile, the long-range variant reaches 150 km/h and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 10.6 seconds, as per Hyundai.

Hyundai says the Inster will stand out with its superior interior connectivity and advanced onboard tech. All variants come equipped with dual 10.25-inch screens—one serving as the digital instrument cluster and the other as the infotainment touchscreen. Additionally, you can unlock and start the car using your smartphone as a key.

The car also packs Hyundai's comprehensive driver assistance suite, which includes a 360-degree parking camera, adaptive cruise control, and a blindspot monitoring system that displays a rear-quarter view on the instrument panel when you use the turn signal. Other notable features include 64-colour ambient lighting, a one-touch sunroof, and an advanced ADAS system that offers a wide range of functionalities.

Up front, you'll find round LED projection headlights and circular LED DRLs positioned above the bumper. The vehicle's rugged look is accentuated by flared wheel arches with sharp angles and 4-spoke alloy wheels on the top-spec model. Adding to its futuristic appeal, the Inster features pixel-graphic turn signals and a sturdy skid plate.
