Intel Arc A750 and A770 new drivers double the performance for DirectX 9 games

Almost…

The Intel Arc story is that of Robin Hood. Save your money from Nvidia and feed you more frames per dollar. The Indian pricing is still hush-hush but when we spoke to Raja Koduri (Executive Vice President of Intel's architecture, graphics and software division), the aim was to bring the same performance per dollar excitement in India too. And now, the Intel Arc A750 and A770 have both got the much-needed driver update that Intel had promised during launch.

The sorry state of DirectX 9 games on Intel Arc GPUs is about to be flipped with the new driver update. Intel says that there’s a 43% performance gain on DirectX 9 video games. CS:GO gets almost double the average FPS on 1080p and games like Team Fortress 2, Skyrim and League of Legends also see a considerable improvement since the first drivers from Intel.

Since much of India still plays CS:GO and League of Legends, the value factor of Intel Arc GPUs may become a thorn in Nvidia and AMDs rear. The Arc A750 and A770 have also stabilized the frame times with games. You’ll see fewer drops and spikes in frame rates as compared to the older drivers.

All that is yet to be tested so we’ll give you a thorough look at Intel’s DirectX 9 performance on the A750 and also update our A770 review with performance gains from the new drivers.
