Kia Sonet facelift makes global debut with ADAS and 360-degree cameras

Kia has launched the much-awaited facelift to the Sonet, which gets ADAS and other advanced features trickled down from larger sibling Seltos. With this facelift, the compact SUV gets more than 25 safety features, including ADAS with 10 autonomous features and over 70 connected car features. ADAS features include Front Collision-Avoidance Assist, Leading Vehicle Departure Alert, and Lane Following Assist, among others.

Design elements largely remain the same, the major updates being new Crown Jewel LED headlamps, Star Map LED DRLs and connected tail lamps. Interiors get LED ambient sound lighting, 7-speaker Bose audio system, and a 10.25-inch full digital cluster.

The Sonet also gets 360-degree camera with blind view monitor. The cabin also boasts dual-screen connected panel design, rear door sunshade curtain, and Smartpure air purifier with virus and bacteria protection.

In terms of safety, the new Sonet comes with 6 airbags as standard. All Sonet variants with diesel powertrains are now available with a manual transmission option. With this, Sonet variants come with 5-speed MT (HTE, HTK and HTK+ variants), 6-speed MT (Diesel), 6-speed iMT (Petrol and Diesel), 7DCT (Petrol), and 6AT (Diesel). Prices have not been revealed yet.
