Lumio Vision TVs first look

For the love of all things homegrown!

Lumio, a homegrown consumer tech brand founded by former Flipkart and Xiaomi executives, is gearing up to enter the smart TV market with the launch of the Lumio Vision 7 and Vision 9 on April 10. We got an exclusive first look at the lineup during a demo session in New Delhi.

To prove its performance chops, Lumio put its TV side by side with a Sony Bravia, showcasing its own models’ speed and fluidity. The Lumio TV was noticeably quicker at loading apps, making the case for a smoother and more responsive user experience.

Lumio states that its TVs will outpace top competitors with double the speed in memory capacity, app loading, scrolling, installation, and rebooting. On top of that, the company promises its TVs will see 12 times fewer frame drops when playing 4K 60fps YouTube videos—something that could make a difference in smooth streaming.

The Vision 7 and Vision 9 are powered by an in-house Boss processor paired with 3GB of DDR4 RAM. Alongside the proprietary chipset, Lumio is equipping its TVs with a Wi-Fi module that, according to the company, delivers 2.1 times faster throughput than rival models.

Running on Android TV with the Google TV interface, these smart TVs aim to offer a faster and more intuitive experience. While Lumio has yet to reveal more details and pricing, the official launch is just around the corner—stay tuned for all the details.
