Mafia: The Old Country gameplay trailer dropped (and it looks good!)

Sicily awaits!

Get ready to kiss the Don's ring, because 2K and Hangar 13 have just unveiled the official gameplay trailer for Mafia: The Old Country, the latest instalment in the gritty crime saga. Revealed May 9th, the trailer gives us a proper look at protagonist Enzo Favara's journey through the brutal yet vibrant backdrop of early 1900s Sicily. The game is slated for release on August 8, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and NVIDIA GeForce NOW), with pre-orders kicking off today.

This entry is being billed as a focused, linear narrative experience, diving deep into an authentic era immersion with a refined take on the classic Mafia gameplay. It's an origin story, following Enzo Favara as he takes the oath and claws his way up the ranks of Don Torrisi's crime family. The new gameplay footage showcased a mix of visceral melee and gunplay, alongside mobility using era-appropriate vehicles and even horseback riding. Very Uncharted vibes. Hangar 13 is also promising a stunning and period-authentic Sicily, brought to life using Unreal Engine 5 for the first time in the series, aiming for an emotional and engaging narrative packed with twists.

For those wanting a deeper dive, a 'Breaking Omerta' Developer Insights video has also been released, and a PAX East developer panel is streaming today on YouTube and Twitch, where the team will spill more beans.
