Mercedes-Benz expands EV line-up with EQE 500 4Matic SUV

Mercedes-Benz just rolled out the EQE 500 4Matic SUV in India, and it's got a price tag of ₹1.39 crore. The SUV has a sleek and stylish vibe, just like its EV siblings. The smooth lines and clean curves are sure to tickle a minimalist person’s fancy.  Plus, it’s got functional design elements such as aerodynamic wheels and a sealed-off front grille, similar to those found in Mercedes’s other electric vehicles.

The EQE SUV rolls on 20in wheels and air suspension that can lift the SUV up by up to 25mm. The luxury SUV stretches out to about 4,863mm in length, stands 1,685mm high and has a wheelbase that spans 3,030mm.

Step inside the EQE 500 SUV, The star of the show is the 56in Hyperscreen, first seen in the EQS. This isn't just one screen, it's a trio of screens protected by a single sheet of Corning Gorilla Glass. Each screen has its own job – one handles your digital instruments, the other is for your passenger's entertainment, and the central unit is all about infotainment. Plus, it has ADAS for added safety, a 15-speaker Burmester sound system and a cabin HEPA filter, there’s even front seat massage functions, after all who doesn’t care for spa on wheels!

Under the hood, the Mercedes EQE 500 SUV comes with a dual motor, all-wheel drive setup. The two motors in the SUV deliver 408hp of power and 858Nm of torque, which as per Mercedes, catapults the SUV from 0 to 100 kph in a claimed time of just 4.9 seconds, and when you want to let it loose, it can reach a top speed of 210 km/h. This SUV is also adventure-ready with an off-road package included as standard including Transparent Bonnet. It houses a 90.56kWh battery that promises a WLTP range of 550km. Mercedes offers a 10-year warranty for the battery. Plus, when you need a quick charge, it can handle up to 170kW of DC fast charging.
