Mercedes-Benz’s latest Vision V concept is a limousine-style van

The burly people-mover wears its van genes and struts like it just rolled off a luxury runway!

Mercedes-Benz is charting a new course for upscale electric travel with the debut of its Vision V concept — an all-electric limousine van designed to redefine VIP mobility. Making its first appearance at the Shanghai Motor Show, the concept offers a glimpse into the future flagship of the revamped V-Class range.

Built atop the brand’s next-gen Van Electric Architecture (VAN.EA), Vision V promises to blend opulent interiors with zero-emissions performance. The spotlight of the Vision V concept is on rear-seat indulgence, with Mercedes crafting a “private lounge” experience swathed in white Nappa leather.

Configured as a four-seater — two up front and two in the back, the highlights include a retractable 65-inch cinema screen that doubles as a partition wall, paired with a 42-speaker audio system for an immersive in-cabin experience. The rear seats, inspired by airline luxury, feature tubular cushions and can fully recline for maximum comfort.

To dial up the ambience, seven integrated projectors create mood-specific lighting environments, while electrochromic rear windows shift from clear to opaque at the tap of a button — for the cocooning escape. And, there's even a karaoke mode.

Up front, the Vision V hints at what might make it into production — including a road-ready steering wheel, crystal-style air vents, and the triple-screen Superscreen setup, slated to debut in the next-gen CLA. On the outside, metal accents frame the windows, a catfish-like faux grille and a continuous rear light bar adds a dash of sci-fi flair. Chunky, geometric wheels complete

the future-forward aesthetic.

While Mercedes has kept technical specs under wraps, the Vision V concept is believed to preview a model from its upcoming grand limousine line-up, set to wear VLS and VLE badging. The first offering is expected to hit the road in 2026.
